Denver, Colorado is a great destination for a weekend trip. I’ve shared my favorite part of our trip below.
Weekend Trip to Denver, Colorado
I touched down in Denver and stayed at the Westin in the Lodo district of Denver Colorado. Stayed on the 19th floor in a room with a beautiful view. The rest of my friends touched down and went to grab a slice of pizza at the local pizzeria sliceworks where I tired a Samurai Rice Ale by the great divide for the first time, really light and clean as expected.
We woke up in the morning and went to Linger, a famous local brunch place that used to be a mortuary, talk about dark architecture. From there we headed up the freeway to Morrison and started our 1.5 mile hike around trading post trail at Redrocks.
Redrocks Amphitheater
We rested for a little then grabbed a seat for the Griz show in the Redrocks Amphitheater. One of the most amazing music performances I’ve attended due to the venue. The amphitheater is built into the natural surrounding rocks. If you haven’t been, I would highly recommend going. Some of the shows are as low priced as $45.
Downtown Denver
Sunday morning we woke up and grabbed breakfast at Comida located in a super quaint brick building that housed a bunch of cute little stores (The Source). We had some amazing coffee from boxcar coffee. Then, we Ubered to City Park for a stroll in the park.
I loved that there was a local park where you could play games right in the middle of downtown. We took a break from walking around and I got schooled in corn hole and ping pong. For dinner, we headed to Avanti a building that hosts a bunch of eateries and a couple of bars before we got on the plane and headed home. Our weekend trip to Denver, Colorado was over too quickly. I will definitely be coming back for another vacation.
